World Energy Forum

Imagining what world-class branding for a global energy event could look and feel like

World Energy Forum began as a personal challenge. Conversations about energy are often presented in ways that feel technical, heavy and distant, and I wanted to approach the subject differently. I designed the identity as though the event were already taking place, from the first banner someone might see across the city to the ticket they would hold on their way inside.

The premise

Energy is usually talked about in a way that keeps people at a distance.

World Energy Forum began as a personal challenge: to imagine what world-class branding for a global energy event could look and feel like.

Conversations about energy are often presented in ways that feel technical, heavy and distant. I wanted to approach the subject differently.

The approach

Make renewable energy visible and human.

I used bold illustrations to make renewable energy feel visible and human, then paired them with bright, complementary colours that brought optimism and movement to the identity.

I developed the brand as though the event were already taking place, from the first banner someone might see across the city to the ticket they would hold on their way inside. The visual system was carried across brochures, stickers, conference signage, hall displays, bags and many other event materials.

What it was for

Designing an atmosphere, not a logo.

The project became about more than creating a logo or choosing attractive colours. It was an opportunity to design an entire atmosphere: one that felt global, hopeful and alive, while still carrying the importance of the conversations happening within it.

It also allowed me to show my range and explore how a single visual idea could remain recognisable across every part of a large international event.
